VoiceBrain is a personal voice-capture app run as a private project by Alexander Dolgov. This page describes what data the app collects, where it lives, who it is shared with, and what your rights are.

What we collect
When you record a voice memo, the app uploads to our server:
When you sign in with Apple, we store an account identifier derived from Apple's sign-in and the tokens needed to keep you logged in. We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.
If you connect Google Calendar, we store an encrypted access token so we can add the events you record to your calendar on your behalf. It is used only for that purpose and is never shared.
- The audio recording.
- The transcript produced from that audio.
- The classification result (task, note, reminder, or event) and the structured fields extracted from it (title, time, location, etc.).
- The recording time and your device's time zone at that moment.
What we do NOT collect
- Contacts, photos, or location (beyond anything you choose to say inside a recording).
- We use our own self-hosted, cookieless analytics to count visits and see which pages help. It runs on our infrastructure, sets no cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and stores no advertising identifiers. There are no third-party analytics or ad trackers on this site or in the app.
- Advertising identifiers. The app contains no ad SDKs and no ad networks.
Data processing and third parties
To turn your recordings into organized entries, we share your audio and its transcript with third-party AI service providers that transcribe and classify them on our behalf. These providers:
If you connect Google Calendar, we send Google only the event fields you record (title, time, location, recurrence) to create, update, or delete those events — nothing else.
Invitation emails (the link a space owner shares with a new member) are delivered through a third-party email provider located in the United States, which receives only the recipient's address and the invite link — never your voice data or transcripts.

- are located in the United States, so this step involves an international transfer of data, carried out under those providers' data-processing terms.
Where data lives
Your entries, transcripts, and audio are stored on our own servers in Germany (EU). Data is not replicated to other regions, and no backups are sent to third-party storage.
How long we keep it
- Entries stay until you delete them.
- Deleted entries move to a "Recently Deleted" state, recoverable for 30 days, then are permanently purged.
- Audio files are automatically deleted from storage after 7 days; the transcript and classification remain until you delete the entry.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, you can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority under the GDPR.
- Access: email hello@vbrain.app and we will send you an export of everything stored under your account.
- Correction: edit any entry inside the app; the change is saved immediately.
- Deletion: delete any entry in the app, or your entire account from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which immediately removes all of your entries, audio, connected-calendar tokens, and your account record.
- Withdrawing consent: disconnect Google Calendar in Settings, and revoke microphone or Calendar permissions from your device settings at any time.
Children
VoiceBrain is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, you'll see a one-time notice in the app before any new data is collected.
